Spanish Camino de Santiago combination.
Discover the Camino de Santiago along this picturesque region of Spain on foot, as seen in the film “The Way”.
Our fully supported journey is through the most picturesque parts, starting from Leon, one of the greatest cities in Spain and finishing in Santiago de Compostella, from the central high plateau and crossing the hilly lands of Galicia. One of the most beautiful parts of the Camino, and of course the most rewarding!
Our Camino de Santiago walk is approx 140 kms, and in order to attain the official Compostella you must walk the last 100km unassisted. Our tour does include that as well as the opportunity to visit other nearby areas along the Camino so you can enjoy the Spanish countryside and small towns that are off the beaten track. We also include a day trip to Finisterre and walk along the cliff moorland as a fitting end to this journey.
The Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago – the Camino de Santiago as it is called in Spanish, or “The Way of St. James” is a journey of the soul and spirit, that takes the traveller in the footsteps of millions of others over a millennium. Today, the Camino – “One of the world’s 2 or 3 great journeys”, according to American writer James Michener – is undergoing a renaissance unlike anything known since the 13th century peak of the pilgrimage. Modern-day ‘pilgrims’, like their forerunners, come from all over, but nowadays those with purely religious motives are joined by lovers of adventure, art, history and legends, all with a desire to take part in an experience that is unique in the modern Western world.
Join this amazing fully supported walk carrying only a small daypack with a small group of women.
Cultural Walking in Southern Tuscany
Tuscany is one of the world’s most fascinating travel destinations, attracting lovers of art, nature, food, wine and walkers. In the heart of the region you will find the sacred mountain of the Etruscans, Monte Amiata, surrounded by the beautiful valley ‘Val D’Orcia” which UNESCO declared a world heritage area in 2004. Monte Amiata is a huge open air museum, where nature, art and culture meet and happily merge.
Here you will be totally immersed in the natural and cultural experience of the true Tuscan country life where centuries old traditions permeate daily life.
