I have been reflecting on what was a really fabulous holiday. With all the excitement of the big cities, then the total relaxation of the last few days, it's hard to pick a favourite part. Seeing the Taj Mahal for the first time, and seeing a wild tiger at close quarters were just amazing. But it was the Indian people who made this holiday special, from those who came out to laugh at us riding camels around the village, to those who welcomed us into their homes and hotels, and the many smiling people waving at us in the streets. I will remember this for ever. - Janette, Perth

Visiting Nepal had been a dream of mine for a long time and the trip with Women's Own Adventures certainly fulfilled my expectations.  The trip was well organised, very interesting, and a lot of fun with a wonderful group of new friends.  The mountains are spectacular and the local guides and porters couldn't have done more to look after us." - Chris, Sydney

Anyone going on the trip to Nepal with Women's Own Adventure next year are in for a fantastic time, from begining to end. I have come back from this trip having completely enjoyed myself. The helpers, porters, cook and guide where all very competant and always helpful and smiling. I would recommend Women's Own Adventure to anyone who loves adventure.Trekking in the mountains was incredible, the scenery just amazing, the little villages with the tea houses where we stayed, the people were so friendly, the elephant ride was fun.

I have come home completely satisfied. Having had a wonderful holliday with a great group of ladies (our group became named the sisters of the singing bowl), what a lot of laughs we had. Thank you Marika, you have everthing covered, don't change anything. - Christine, Perth

Albatross, painted petrals, terns, kelp gulls follow the MS Expedition as we leave Ushuaia through the Beagle Channel and then through The Drake Passage of 4 to 5m waves providing 2 days of entertainment until we reach the Antarctic waters of the 7th continent.  Antarctica is beyond expectations and is with no doubt the trip of one´s life.  It is impossible for any photograph to do any justice to the scenery, for any words to really convey the experience of being within a couple of feet of weddell seals, gentoo, adelie and chinstrap pengins, to walk in the whitest, most pristine snow to vantage points to see more of this magnificent scenery that can change from sunny to wind and snow within minutes, forth and back again, and then to calm still weather where one could hear a pin drop and see for a million miles.

The camping on Pleneau Island was out of this world with the most beautiful so called `night` where after 11:00pm I was still taking photos of the icebergs in the water and the beautiful colours of the evening light over water and snow covered weathered mountains that tower over our ship in the bay making it look like a small toy in huge flat mill pond.  It was a magic night and a really wonderful and amazing, surreal experience.   There was not a breathe of wind as we walked around in this divine area taking photos only feet away of weddell seals and gentoo pengins who look at as and say ¨what are you, never seen anything like you before around here?  there is no fear, just real curiosity; especially from the pengins who will actually walk up to you to have a good look at this weird animal in their land for a few minutes and then waddle off back to their rookery for courting with their life long partner and getting ready to mate, then make their nest on stones for the next generation of this wonderful animal who thrives in this coldest of climates on earth.

If there is only one trip a person should do in their lifetime, it is a visit to Antarctica on the MS Expedition. - Lisa, Sydney

Thank you very much for arranging the Tibet trip.   It really was fabulous and a dream come true for me.   Lhamo was a wonderful guide, and we couldn’t ask for a better driver than Cho Li.   Of course Ang pulled it all together.   I especially loved the hotel in Lhasa, and the tours in Lhasa.   As the others will tell you, I am obsessed with the Potala, and I could not believe that I had a view of it from our hotel room.    The tour suited my interests perfectly, as I loved seeing Ghantse, Shigatse, Rongbuk, Everest, and the road back to Nepal.   The van was much better than I expected and we were very comfortable as Cho Li drove us on all of those amazing roads.   I really enjoyed staying in the “tent” at Rongbuk.

I will highly recommend your tours, and I plan to do another one next year – maybe to South America.
So thanks again ! - Liz, Melbourne

I had a fantastic time on the trip.  I could go back and do it all over again.  I really enjoyed getting to know you over the week and enjoyed the company of all the women on the trip.  We were all so very different but everyone got on and supported each other.

I thought the standard of the food and accommodation was brilliant.  If anything, too much food!  I loved the fact that we had the relaxation/chat time in the afternoon with drinks and nibblies, it really rounded the days off nicely.  As I am a beginner to bush walking and hiking, I was happy that I kept up, I was worried that I might not be fit enough, but felt that I handled the walks really well.

I'm actually looking into doing the Overlander track next year, or maybe another one through Women's Own Adventures, not sure yet, but this was a great introduction for me and given me a taste for more of these types of holidays. - Kathy

A big "thank you" for making my first trip to Nepal a memorable one. The Nepalese guides, chosen for our trek were great.  I felt safe and so well looked after. The days where we just trekked up and up, be it 'slowly' was tougher, both mentally and physically, than I had anticipated. To succeed and reach Poon Hill was a personal triumph.  I have made new friends and will certainly return to Nepal.  Base Camp at Everest is now on my radar!!"- Leanne, Sydney

Our trip to Nepal was an amazing adventure from start to finish.  Our local guide, Ang, was fantastic and we had nothing to worry about except putting one foot in front of the other – not always easy!  The trek was challenging but Ang encouraged us and we accomplished much more than we thought possible and finished feeling confident and very proud of ourselves.

Our group was brilliant – we clicked immediately and every day saw us sharing extraordinary sights, demanding walks and many, many laughs.  I’m hoping the sisters will unite to tackle base camp next!  Marika’s tour captured everything for me – adventure, challenges & wonderful camaraderie. " - Helen, Sydney

Trekking in Nepal is exciting, you never know what's around the bend, maybe donkeys with bells on, people carrying large loads or even a mountain! The views are spectacular, the people are very warm and helpful, the walking is hard in places but doable.

The Womens Own Adventure tour was great, a small group, a wonderful guide Ang, wonderful porters and a lot of fun, I can't wait to go back. - Sheila, Sutherland

The 13 day holiday in Nepal, trekking and exploring the jungle is one of the most life changing experiences I have had. The whole trip has been well researched to provide as wide an experience as possible in just two weeks. The organisation of meals and accommodation was flawless and it would be hard to think how things might have been improved on. If you like adventure and don't mind being taken out of your comfort zone in order to immerse yourself in a third world culture, this is a holiday you might like to consider. - Bronwyn, Sydney

Peru was magnificent.  I loved the varied itinerary (you to thank for that, no doubt).  I loved the way we saw Machu Piccu but also the Amazon, coastal and desert areas.  Who would have thought Peru had so much variety!
As I said, the hotels were lovely - much nicer than expected.  It certainly is a joy to relax in a comfortable room after a big day's sightseeing.  Being an ex-backpacker of years gone by, I now realise no more dorms for me!  I like comfort.
Everything was so organised, and we all liked that.
The guides, without exception, were first class.  Special mention must be made about Percy, who made our trip extra special.  He really is a unique person.  Peru is lucky to have him in the tourist industry.
I liked the way the itinerary could be altered (slightly) for us - ie, perhaps not such a long walk for us up to the village.
Everyone - hotel staff, drivers, guides, etc, went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and safe and ensure we got to where we needed to go.

The Jungle River Cruise in Kalimantan, Borneo - The trip was absolutely great.  I really love the jungle feeling , the wildlife, and the company aboard the boat.  Everyone got on really well, and had many interesting conversations , learning new tid bits everyday!  Gaye was a fantastic host, delivering delicious food to us every single time.    The only time we really earned a meal, was when we climbed the MOUNTAIN.  The rest of the time we lolled around playing quick scrabble, reading or talking, or of course, photographing everything in sight.  I think I have wiped my photos off the computer by mistake, shall have to get one of my kids to retrieve them somehow.

The accommodation was basic, but reasonable.  Food was fantastic.  The local people were very friendly, and put on dances when we came in.  The night in the long house was fun.  The local women came in to the long house,  to talk to us,  we sat around for a couple of hours with them and Aini [guide] , she interpreted for us, then out came the home brew from a previous wedding and some dancing lessons.  Lots of laughter.
All in all I really enjoyed the trip, I wouldn’t change anything - Cheers Marie
