Testimonials
"The 13 day holiday in Nepal, trekking and exploring the jungle is one of the most life changing experiences I have had. All aspects of the holiday were challenging - physical, mental and emotional. The trekking for 5 days around the Annapurnas to a height of 3100 metres was exhausting but was rewarded with magnificent views of snow-capped mountains, contact with the cultural reality of the many locals in the villages we passed through and the wonderful support of expert guides and the other adventurous women on the trek.
In a country of such beauty, there is a very noticeable contrast between the beauty and the extreme poverty in both the cities and the rural areas. Our guides were able to help us understand the reality of mountaineering and gave us valuable insights into the political and social aspects of Nepal. The whole trip has been well researched to provide as wide an experience as possible in just two weeks. The organisation of meals and accommodation was flawless and it would be hard to think how things might have been improved on. If you like adventure and don't mind being taken out of your comfort zone in order to immerse yourself in a third world culture, this is a holiday you might like to consider." - Bronwyn, Sydney
"Visiting Nepal had been a dream of mine for a long time and the trip with Women's Own Adventures certainly fulfilled my expectations. The trip was well organised, very interesting, and a lot of fun with a wonderful group of new friends. I would recommend Women's Own Adventure to anyone who loves adventure.Trekking in the mountains was incredible, the scenery just amazing, the little villages with the tea houses where we stayed, the people were so friendly, the elephant ride was fun.
I have come home completely satisfied. Having had a wonderful holliday with a great group of ladies (our group became named the sisters of the singing bowl), what a lot of laughs we had. Thank you Marika, you have everthing covered, don't change anything." - Christine, Perth
Our group was brilliant – we clicked immediately and every day saw us sharing extraordinary sights, demanding walks and many, many laughs. I’m hoping the sisters will unite to tackle base camp next! Marika’s tour captured everything for me – adventure, challenges & wonderful camaraderie. " - Helen, Sydney
"Trekking in Nepal is exciting, you never know what's around the bend, maybe donkeys with bells on, people carrying large loads or even a mountain! The views are spectacular, the people are very warm and helpful, the walking is hard in places but doable.
The Womens Own Adventure tour was great, a small group, a wonderful guide Ang, wonderful porters and a lot of fun, I can't wait to go back". - Sheila, Sutherland
